Fast, clean and compliant. It may not sound like much, but the beauty of a good website is not spinning text or flashy graphics. Giving your visitors what they need to make a decision to do business with you is all that matters. Every pixel on the page adds up to the sum of your visitor's experience. While more people are using broadband or cable, half your customers are still on a dial-up connection. Publish to web standards and open the doors for everyone.

Developing a site with no sense of what it 'feels like' to a first time visitor is a mistake. With the files right there on your computer, there's no wait for downloading. Photos and animations and flash movies take time to load. Test your pages for usability in the real world. Test on a T1 and a 56k modem. And be sure to clear the cache now and then to see how things look if you are a first time visitor. Make everyone welcome, and you'll do more business.
